I've got to say that Jason Day is fast becoming one of my all time favorite players.

ok, he's not a prestigious winner (Yet) but he seems to have everything and the right attitude to match !!!

He's performed brilliantly in all the majors, fought through injuries. Played on through severe bouts of vertigo (none of this my tooth hurts I'm off rubbish).

I really felt for him at the open this year(Not just because I had money on him), I was sure he was going to birdy the last to get into the playoff. It clearly hurt but responded like a true winner.

After last nights fantastic finish I really hope he goes on a run of form and bags himself a ton of titles.

He's certainly one of the more likeable players on tour! always pleasing to see him beat Bubba, who i literally cannot stand!

Struggle to separate the Jason Day as is, from the media hyped version.

Seems to have skills, power and a great attitude so hope he's left alone to fulfill his potential. Tough history and shows good character to be where he is. Interesting to watch.

Snap. Just can't warm to the guy.

When he hit his drive down 17 and they said Day's one went 1y further I yelled out "In your face Bubba" :whoo: Bit childish but I was a bit whipped up by then.

I loved the post-round interviews he done for the Beeb at The Open. A driven individual, who seems to be grounded well by his young family.
Made of tough stuff too, and proved it by yesterday's finish.
Great to see a sportsman learn from defeat and bounce back without usual lame excuses.
His majors record is great, and a very good shout for the USPGA

Top likely bloke who's been there or thereabouts in the majors for a few years 1's going to come along soon.

386yards..... Also qualifys for forum membership ;)

'all time'?

Is that the last 20yrs? Or more or less?

Though he seems OK - he doesn't even register in my thoughts of 'all time' favourite players.

All time for me is about 5 years since I started playing and watching :)

I dunno, there's just something about him that clicks with me.

Matt Kuchar - Come one, you have to give some sort of a reason. Beige doesn't cover it. Likeable but forgettable.

Really don't know - you are quite right - likeable but pretty forgettable. But his was first name that came to mind after Luke Donald and Justin Rose - then realised that there is something about JR that just says a little too much of an acted public facade when he's playing. Though he does seem a nice guy when interviewed. I tend not to warm to 'characters'.

It was a wonderful finish and whether you "can't stand" Bubba or not he made it a dam exciting finish. I actually love watching Bubba play his "unorthodox" golf. Some pro's can only dream of the vision and shot making skills that he displays week in week out.

Great clutch putt on 18 by Day so he deserved it.

That's the odd thing. I love watching him play. But there's something about him that's off. It's probably something to do with the fact he's supposed to be really religious but then seems to have this really dark and moody side to him as well.

Why can't you be religious AND dark and moody? You're implying you expect religious folks to be bright and breezy (happy-clappy?) type. Fortunately we can be miserable sods like everyone else.

Big fan of Day's.
But I'm slightly annoyed as i backed him to win The Open & then he goes & wins the week after when I didn't back him.

I'm another who can't warm to Day. Unquestionably a talented player who could win a major with the game he has but there's something (and I can't put my finger on what) that niggles me

Pretty much what i feel. Never been able to take to him myself. Adam Scott is another I can't take to.
