Jack Cannon of Irvine Golf Club passed away today.
Jack Cannon is the oldes player ever to win the Scottish Am.Championship he was 52-53 he held a scratch or better handicap for 50 years.He was was born in a small mining village called Bartonholm near Kilwinning,Ayrshire.
He was a full cousin of Hammy McInally and Jimmy Walker also Scottish Champions.
The three of them were true amateur's working and raising their families. I can imagine the 1st tee with the 3 of them waitng for God to join them and Walker saying I hope this guy can putt.
When will we see their likes again.
