I was just thinking about this today. I had a look online and most people seem to recommend a dedicated golf watch or a laser if you are just looking for distance. I am looking at getting a smart watch anyway so would of been handy if I could of bought an Apple watch and used it for golf too. I was hoping there would be some kind of swing analysis app, but I don't think the watch has the hardware to be able to do this
Funny enough on my other tab I was looking at iWatches - I personally think they're the way forward they are multi use as opposed to the GPS watches and you can select what app to use. I'd personally pay for a decent app on the iWatch if you were going to use it for golf.
I have the Apple Watch and personally find it completely pointless for golf. Doesn't have its own GPS so is totally reliant on the phone. Unless you either have you bag right next to you or your phone in your pocket you never get accurate readings.
If you do want one however have a look at Hole 19.
Thanks folks, I have a bushnell so not worried about GPs per say, more game golf type stuff I was thinking. Was toying with one anyway but this would have been a good way to get something extra from it. Cheers
I see that Game Golf is now available for the Apple Watch......not a lot of info on their website yet but that could be a huge step forward, combining what I think is a superb system, with what i understand to be an excellent smart watch.
