This year I decided to focus on putting and irons. I used to hit my driver really well, as well as my hybrid & 3 wood.

Anyway, I can now hit a really nice iron shot. I also putt really well, I've really reduced the number of 3 putts I have in a round.

The downside? I've lost the ability to hit a good driver, 3 wood or hybrid. Even the 4 iron is touchy.

I thought the solution to this problem was to buy an M2 driver. That's made things worse... although I can stripe it occasionally, my bad shots are even worse!

I seem to have lost all height on my driver, 3 wood and hybrid. They are also coming off really left. It's madness, I can thin a driver off the tee, yet if it's still a half decent lie, knock a good iron onto the green and 2 putt. My scores have come down, yet I feel like I'm missing out on shots still.

Stupid game.

I too am experiencing the issues you've described, doing really well with the irons but the woods have gone right off the boil, I've put it down to the change in my swing havin concentrated a lot on the ole irons this year.

As for an answer to your problem, I've yet to work out what the issue is.

It's a stupid game. However I think personally, you need to approach practice as a whole, and focus on every aspect. What is happening with the driver and hybrids? Is it the same sort of shot (slice?) every time. The simple answer is to get a lesson on the clubs troubling you and use the winter to get everything working together. You need a fully rounded game. Try keeping a few simple stats and see how many fairways etc you are hitting and see if there are patterns emerging
