40 foot waves threatened for the west coast of Scotland this afternoon.
Might cause a bit if damage to a few links courses.

I hit a wall of rain on the A77 driving home from Glasgow last night, brought traffic to a standstill, pretty scary 10 minutes

We've not had lightening jet but the wind, rain and hailstones have been awful here today as well. Hoping it's better tomorrow as it's Ladies Day so we have a competition on.

BBC weather was telling me this morning we had 80 MPH winds. lucky if its been 15 at most, raining quite heavily most of the day with the odd sunny period. Kirkwall flight was delayed due to high winds and my meeting was delayed as the two people flying from Manchester were held up by a head wind.

Heard the Sky bridge was closed to all traffic this morning and all the ferries were cancelled.

Playing golf in the high winds down Falklands used to be great fun - you could actually get a ball to go that high it blew back over your head - also could hit 7 irons forum yardages :D

Winds weren't fun when up the tower in Benbecula or up the radar tower :D

Huge waves off Orkney, clearing the 500 foot high cliffs.
Lifeboat working in 30 metre waves.....brave folk.

Here is a video shot by one of the lifeboat crewmen, there is one of an interview with 2nd engineer done by the local radio station but I can't find a link to it. He says it was the worst he'd been out in but the one good thing was the had the swell, tide and wind going with them. He said it would have been a lot worse had they been punching into it. Brave lads.
