Is it?

I know our opportunities to get out there are going to be limited but......

Your local course won't be full of people who have just watched the Open and thought I'll have a go!

That Brandy to warm you up at 10;30 isn't a giveaway to the rest of your 4 ball that your are borderline alcoholic

That feeling you get when you've battled the elements and still done 18 holes (Mother Nature ha I laugh at your hurricane winds!)

Even in the rain, wind and cold it's still better than spending 8 hours going round in a circle until you get back to the top she saw first (apologies lady forummers I'm just speaking from experience)

It could be a lot worse ,true it could be a lot better but we are still golfing

Nothing beats hitting a full on driver 180 yards into the wind followed by a full 3 wood to a hole measuring 310. Actually even in the roughest weather it is better to be out and golfing irrespective of scoring than sitting in front of the box or trawling round the shops with everyone else

I don't think you'll find many that'll disagree with you on here.

Here's to no societies, long waits for the morning bacon butty. No more 5 plus hour rounds, or folks that are fair weather hackers. (Okay so I'm a fine one to talk about hackers, but I'm keen and you'll see me out all year).

Only real downside is the matts.

No such thing as bad weather, just the wrong choice of clothing.

Nothing is better than winter golf as for 18 holes you get much closer to the original game, especially if you are visiting a links course over the winter season.

Cool crisp & perhaps misty starts, clear fairways, perhaps even clear skies. A nip of something warming, to chear your day & somehow get the feeling for those few hours you are somehow closer to Old Tom Morris & co'.

Even full of cold as I am now, a cold day on the course is preferable to a good day at work & there are very few of those at the moment, especially full of cold. Though I hope I get rid of mine before wednesday as I am playing 5 rounds in 3 days of winter golf....

Best pack the hip flask if I can find it.

I only mentioned to my partners yesterday that it would soon be cold enough to start carrying the hipflask again!

It takes a lot to stop me getting out for my fix.

AHH i love winter golf, I was all ready to take on the cold and rain the other, ready to get one over on mother nature.... only to be defeated by a runny nose.

Seriously, I had to call it a day on the 9th. Every putt was rushed and missed because my snoz had a leak that literaly didn't stop. I counted 9 sneazes on the 8th tee before I could get a drive down the fairway... sorry rough.

Anyway its gone now so am off to the course this aft to try get a game in, rain, wind or shine!
