Playing in the winter league comp last sunday morning. As we made our way off the 1st green and to the 2nd, we heard raised voices over by the 9th tee. Only to see two old scrotes grappling on the floor in the wind and rain.

We found out later that it went off because one of them kept going out of turn on the tee!

Absolute comedy to watch.

Played with an established member of our club one sat during the summer , i was waiting for the group ahead to go a bit further before i played so i said to him & our playing partner , play away if you want guys im gona wait , they did , this happened on a few holes , on the 15th it was his honour , as he was rummiging in his bag i went & teed up , to hear , oih your not up laddy so wait your turn , ok technicaly i was wrong but as we had been chopping & changing all day to keep moving along i didnt think it would be an issue , it was his last honour of the day , & last time he was let play 1st aswell , our other playing partner just looked at me & rolled his eyes ..

That's hilarious !! This whole honour on the tee thing kind of passes me by especially in friendy rounds and in fact only in matchplay do I think it has merit...but I recognise the types nowadays that live by it and do as required !

Is the correct answer!

What a pair of auld wallopers!

So is this a members club or pay and play? I hope both are banned or made to pay a sizeable amount of cash to charity!

Was going to ask what part of the country but then saw the Man Utd quote in your signature... Thought people in London would be better behaved
:one:

It's only matchplay that I have a real problem with the honour and a stickler for playing in turn. Other than that if you want to play and you're ready then fire away. I would hope news of this debacle got back to the captain/committee and action will be taken

Hope you play golf better than you tell gags.

You could google "silverware manchester" and find trophies. or you could google "silverware newcastle" and follow the links to "spoons" "forks" etc.

LOL.

that is absolutely on the money. in our bounce games or weekly swindles, we always let the short guys hit first in order to keep the pace of play moving, its only on par 3's where let the honour kick in.

Now match play is different, if you have earned the right to tee off, as its a battle of mental strength aswell as golfing ability, matchplay is always in order of honour.

sad that it even gets to that stage with some people. Game, fun, friendship and enjoyment are obviously strangers in their vocabulary or mindset
