It's arrived - the Big Bertha Alpha that I won at Callaway's Kings of Distance and it looks gorgeous!

Off to the range early this afternoon and play late afternoon and tomorrow so lets hope for the results I saw at Stoke Park!

You know they've taken the "selling tape" off it now, there's no way you'll get the same results!

I went to the range this afternoon and hit loads of balls with the new beasty, it's different to my Ping G15 sound and all. I played around with the settings and ended up with it set on 8* and slight draw. I then decamped to the course, met up with a mate and played 9 holes.

Not too good on the first hole (par 5 10th) but behaved well on 11,12,13, 15 before fatigue set in on 17 and a poor hit which was the last driving hole. We did loads of chipping from different distances too which will prove invaluable so, all in all, a welcome addition and some great practice. Taking the day off tomorrow so will likely repeat the range trip and then do 18 holes!
