Well sleet and rain and a Northern husband who has become a Southern softie means no golf today.

So have put the time to good use and the decorations are up, the lifesize inflatable snowman is waving at the neighbours and I love it

Just hope the weather improves so we can play tomorrow or I'll get withdrawal symptoms!

I just love the whole thing.

Never really understood people who don't like Christmas.

Lights to brighten up the drab streets, lots of parties, loads of good food, time off work, catch-up with the family, pressies...

I even like my wife's Michael Buble Xmas album :o

I was 100% with you until the Buble reference!! Actually at this time of year I'll enjoy his xmas stuff and just listening to the radio and enjoying the festive tunes....

My birthday is on the 29th and I've ALWAYS loved having a birthday at this time for all the reasons you mention. Never ever had to go to school or work on my birthday - family and friends around - love it

I am a twin and money was really tight, so with a birthday on the 8th we used to get " we havnt got you much for your birthday but you'll get something nice for Christmas" and, you've guessed it, at Christmas it was" we couldn't get too much for Christmas as we spent a lot on your birthday"

Shame there was no Childline around then, I'd have been straight on the phone

It helps to be just after Christmas and maybe I lucked out a bit as a kid and do get presents from HID wrapped in snowman paper but that's fine :)

Just had the biggest laugh as wrapped the presents and now under the tree. So you know how irritating it is when they guess what's in it after all your hardwork wrapping it for the surprise?? Well I simply couldn't figure out how the hell to wrap a golf umbrella without it looking 100% like a golf umbrella! HID "is it a DVD??"
