Hitting a variety of clubs through the bag.

The shots were mainly good with the odd strong draw. The driver shots were all pretty much straight!

My main issue of coming WAY too much on the inside is very evident, beginning as I start the downswing.

I also have some address issues to work on, I need to stand a little better so my arms hang straight down.

I reviewed these vids at the range and I have some vids of my "finished" swing which looks a little better.

My very issue! Coming on the inside cramps me up, its also caused by a little move at the top and I end up looking like that. Often leads to tops/thins as I "pop" out of the shot.

I have been battling it for a while and these vids show it very nicely.

i think dropping it on the inside is fine but your hips don't open up enough to make use of it, tho what do i know i take 2 more to hacks get round a course than you do :mmm: ;)
interested in Justones diagnoses...

I thought it was photoshopped!

whats the median of your shots?

One of the "less good" ones!

Thanks to these vids I had made a few adjustments to my address and things started to improve. I look a little better at impact now as I am not so cramped up.

I still feel I will be living with this issue for a while as I am very much a "from the inside" player.

Looks like a similar position to the one I get into. Pro told me to turn the hips more from the top of the backswing, and to keep my backside from moving towards the ball. Had me swinging without a club backed up against a wall.

I had the same problem of coming way to much on the inside and almost hitting myself and was mainly due to the ball position being to close. Your ball position on the longer irons are defiantly way to close.i don't mind sharing he tips I recieved from my pro on this if your interested.

Nice swing though

James posted an excellent clip about early extension a few weeks back - don't know who the instructor was but he was in a hotel room!!

You seem to swing your longer irons on a much squarer path, it appears on the vid like you change your swing with your short clubs. I would be inclined to guess you find more centre strikes with your long irons?

Pretty much, I have been implementing my changes more at the top end of the bag and not got round to the bottom end yet. things are still far from perfect but I am less on the inside and less flat than I used to be.

For me all the issues stem from address, I get that right and the rest fall into place.

Seen so many others posting up there swings I thought I should join in too. Gives James something to do anyway!

My god, that "pro from his bedroom" has described my swing mechanics perfectly ! Got my top of swing position, hip movement (or not) and downswing movement /erro, along with hooking result.
Range here i come

I wouldn't worry about coming too much inside, to achieve those distances you must be holding your wrist angle at least with the driver. If your holding your wrist angle then only your posture can be causing thin / fat shots because your swing wouldn't be bottoming out.

I sometimes think we get too obsessed with perfecting our swings. Just my opinion. Decent figures with Driver mate
