It will be all white in the night

They've "improved" it by painting it White - their words.
Wonder how the owners of the inferior original version feel....

In this months mag the Ceo of TM basically says that they will re-introduce a white driver
as the pros love it.
However the general public prefer black.
Imo it was a certainty.

golfers may mock or shake their heads at Taylormade for doing this, but Ive bought a new driver every year for the last 10 years going for no specific brand just the one that adds the biggest increase in "Distance" and "Accuracy" that year. At an average increase of 10% longer each year, I'm now driving the ball 648yrds carry but my dispersion of +/- 1.5yrds is disappointing so if the white head fixes that then I'm gonna buy it

I'd be less cynical about it they'd released it at the same time as the grey one.

Didn't anyone in the TM Marketing machine think to paint it white from the start..?

No need to be cynical Imurg, it is as you assume purely to make more profit! if someone is stupid enough to own the black one and think, actually i want the white one, then more fool them!

I think people forget that TM are a profit making business.... Do apple, Microsoft, Sony, Heinz get slammed when they tweak an existing product then shout about it??

Get over it, they release lots of clubs, you dont have to buy one.

I just like the discussion Sccoter!

King reckons the public are 80:20 black head : white head
So TM are after a fairly small market with this club
And I wonder how many, who prefer a white head, have looked at the original SLDR and vetoed it because it's not white..?
I don't see much extra profit in this, bearing in mind all the marketing expenses......
If they'd released them both at the same time it would have made more sense.

they are just accessing the other 20% nothing wrong with that ... But I think I would wait a bit because the SLDR 2 is due out in about 3 months, one doesn't want to get caught out :)

I need to stick with Nike or Cobra, or I'll lose all the comedy gold of grabbing the red headed big stick and giving it a whack (etc etc).
Frankly a few more yards isn't worth giving all that up ;)

Think it looks very nice

Understand it's a limited edition

But I like the look of my new grey one - hitting it lovely and now looking at the Hybrids

Always good to have choice and always funny the reaction whenever TM release something

You laugh but , my mate painted his R9 white a few years ago. he Did it properly though and it was immaculate.
It was nick named the R10.5!

:D
He did better than TM. They couldn't get past the first 2 characters!

And as it seems to be every 2nd week, there's plenty of choice!

TM lost the Pro Shop market some year ago with that policy - and the much reduced end-of-line kit. I know of 2 AG outlets that aren't happy with TM providing so much 'choice' too. This will make 5 or 6 current TM Driver options! Crazy!
