It looks like a laptop but isn't and yet, it is, and a tablet ??

ASUS are a decent company but for that price and for what you will be doing on it I would personally go for an iPad just because they work- not saying this won't but it has a lot going on, plus detachable components that could get broken easily or mislaid, then you have the constant windows updates and errors.
However, it has a USB port (Apple dont) and bluetooth so it has things going for it.

seen any reviews?

Reviews seem good and I like the idea I can use it for teaching or home use and I can plug it into the tele.
Plus, the Ipad laptops seem to start around £700

Logitech do the same type of blutooth keboard/screen protector for the ipad for about £40, and JL are doing the 16g ipad for £319, so not hugely more expensive

It's definately a tablet, the Atom CPU is very low power and certainly won't do what a laptop does .
Most of the program's look as if they are run as apps so think of it as a tablet with detatchable keyboard.

One thing , I've seen a few windows tablets like the surface and I find the script generally to be very small and hard to hit the exact part of the screen with your finger, to execute a proceedure.

I've no problem with that or windows 8 and I have slim fingers so the script should be ok

It should be ok to stream you tube stuff onto a tv though Phil ?

I've had the android version (ASUS transformer tf300) for 2 years and I wouldn't buy it again. The build quality wasn't very good and the screen sucked; both mine and my girlfriend's both had permanent damage on the screen from too much touching in the same spot. I also found that I used the keyboard about once every 6 months and mainly as a stand to prop up and watch TV on.

I bought a Dell Venue 11 from the Dell outlet for £260 two weeks ago and it is a marked improvement. I don't bother with the keyboard for tablets anymore, I just use a case with a built in stand. I wanted windows 8.1 as I prefer a more desktop style user experience and I did look at the ASUS but in the end, I went for the Dell as I didn't need a keyboarder and it only bulks up the weight.

I would pop into curry's and try out the ASUS, Dell and Surface pro and see which suits you best. I can't over emphasise the importance of a good screen on a tablet as it is your interface for everything. The Asus screen resolution is nowhere near as good as the Dell or Surface pro and really make a difference.

Thanks Danny.
I was about to go and buy the tablet but after reading your post, decided against it.
However, I've just realised that the T100 I am looking at is the updated version of your model TF300 so hopefully the issues you had have now been resolved.

The only downside I've found is that finger prints show up on the back
