Sorry to blow my own trumpet on here again but I'm just back from a society day at Caversham Heath. It was our Summer medal, we played off the yellows but it's still 6600 odd yds so no push over and I've not played there for 15 years. Anyhow, my recent good form continued and I took 1st place with a 5 over par 78, 11 pars, 6 bogies and a birdie. I hit 11 fairways and 10 greens in the process too :whoo:

Sometime soon I'm gonna come crashing down to earth with a very loud bang but for the time being, I'm gonna ride this wave for as long as I can :D

Out of curiosity Hawkeye how much do you feel your full bag of custom fitted clubs has contributed to your handicap drop?

It can't hurt but I think the biggest contributing factors are lessons and the fact that I am fitter as a result of training for the Windsor half marathon. I am actually thinking of getting my clubs re-checked as my swing has changed a bit since my lessons.

Thanks for the reply. I definitely need to get back on the fitness trail, roll on July. Hats off to you though mate hard work and perseverance clearly paying off

On the downside I'm very annoyed with Mike for getting down so low just before the Nike matchplay but I've seen him playing recently including his 40 points last Sunday and he is hitting it unbelievably well and there is more to come
