I am 14 and hit my titleist 907 D2 9.5* driver between 250-270 but i bougt for xmas and it was second hand and came with a x-flex fujikara shaft and i want to is this too stiff for me?
If you want shaft advice you are probalby better of going to a PGA professional who should be able to offer the correct specidfications for you. Some of the better AG sotres will offer this service (a couple I know are run by PGa qualified pros) and the technical guys on here can give you the benefit of their experience. At the end of the day the best way to find a shaft/head combination that works is to experiment and hit balls
Where does your bad shot with the driver go? And do you have a continuous bad shot e.g High weak fade? Also what is your swing speed? This can be measured quite easily by most AG/DG stores with a device that sits on the floor.
I would imagine at 14 an x-stiff shaft will be too strong, then again if your getting the distance you claim it may not be. If your blocking right now or cutting low and right I would suggest that its a tad on the poker side.
Good luck and I will look out for you at the Open in a few years time.
Craw beat me to it, I was going to say that if the majority of your shots are going straight right or blocked right then the shaft could be too stiff/heavy for you.
I had a cleveland Halo with a stiff shaft, great club but everything was blocked right. I also have a Ben ross V5 trimass with the same shaft as my driver (NVS aldila) but it 10 grams heavier and all shots are straight right with it.
To be sure though you would have to see a pro or atleast some one who knows a bit to have a look at you using it.
What shafts do you have in your other clubs? Do you get on well with them?
Do you know your swing speed? I personally feel that Fujikura shafts are quite stiff anyway compared to some.
