Just been away for a holiday in Cyprus and I just could not stop thinking about golf the whole time.

I swam a couple of miles each day and while doing so I 'played' my home course in my mind thinking about each and every shot - options for different days / weather conditions - whats most likely to score well , whats most likely to protect a nett par etc. I have a whole 'game plan' in my mind, including some new ways to play some of the holes to try and edge a few shots off my score.

Between this I read the latest issue of GM page to page and then the short game tips and tricks book - this got detroyed when I left it poolside and the spinklers kicked in so while I dried the pages out and read them its a gonner! :(

Cut off from golf for 8 days and I feel like I have had withdrawal symptoms - lol.

So - is this normal or am I breaking up??

What do you do when cut off from the game for a time?

I did the exact same thing when I went to Rhodes in June.

2 weeks of playing golf in my head as well as working on my stance and Tempo.

Think it done the job, shot well below my handicap on a few rounds since.

You got it real bad man

Perfectly normal obsessional behaviour

i take a sand wedge and some plastic practice balls and find a bit of grass or beach and let fly.

You'd be surprised at how many brits gravitate towards you asking for a go, So i think its a widespread illness

totally with you on this Hickory.

Her in doors reckons I have an unhealthy obsession... I don’t know what she’s talking about ;-p. She even said to me last week that she wishes she was Golf that way I’d pay more attention to her.

I had the perfect cure a few weeks ago when I was on holiday in Portugal,I took my clubs with me and got 4 rounds of golf in while I was there for 10 days. I learned my lesson from not taking my clubs last year. On a side note, the courses over there are amazing and very well priced for green fee's
