The notifications are driving me crazy

I cannot quickly find if there is having scanned the settings

go to settings top right then general settings on the left hand side then scroll through the options, should be able to set your preferences there

In General Settings (as Fundy posted) select 'Do not Subscribe' in the Default Thread Subscription Mode.

Then you have to go to Messages and do something like 'Delete Subscribed Threads' - it should be reasonably obvious - and that will clear those you have 'subscribed to' by efault!

Hope that helps.

I think you might be able to perform both actions from the 'Messages' menu, but have forgotten how!
