Is it possible to draw the ball with an over the top swing?

I've been working on losing my fade/slice which is caused by an over the top swing. I've recently had a bit of success with drawing the ball and was wondering if i've finally lost the over the top swing?

Thanks.

Swing path through thew ball dictates if you fade or draw the ball. You can do whatever you want on the way back its the 18 inches either side of the ball that is crucial.

If it's starting right (or even straight) and Draw-ing, then that's almost certainly showing a success.

A Draw with an OTT swing is most likely to be a duck/pull hook!

It's not possible to hit a 'true draw' with an out to in swing path as with that path the face is always going to be moving to the left of your ball target line, where the ball starts off & ends up depends on the face angle at impact. But a draw ball flight has to start right of the aimed ball/target line then move back left to target.

If your draw happens when you've aimed face at target then aimed & aligned your body square, parallel left of the ball/target line then on strike the ball flight has started to the right of the ball/target line & come back left in flight to target. Then it is a draw & you haven't routed the club on an out to in path.

It is possible to hit what seems like a draw, because the aim & alignment has been a good ways right of target to start with, the swing can then be still a ways out to in, but then the ball will have still actually started left of the original aim line (not right of it as in a true draw) but then move back further left to target, a bit of a pull 'fake' draw.

So the way you can tell for sure is down to where the face is looking at address & the way your body is aimed & aligned, all relative to the start direction & finish of the ball flight.
