... lose a piece of equipment and be penalised for it?

Having read the latest of the many Titleist ball trial threads and seeing how many are now lost, it got me thinking. I can't think of any other sport in which a vital piece of equipment is so regularly lost!!!

Yeah, I've thought that before too, especially when you get a dozen balls as a present off someone...... what other present would be given in the sure knowledge that the recipient will probably have lost it within a few weeks ?

Tennis? When I play, at least 10% of the balls end up over the fencing. :)

Yacht racing.

Things that go overboard quite regularly.

Winch handles £60 plus
Sail bags £100 plus
Spinnakers £0000 (thousands)
Rope and shackles £250 plus
Caps galore
Watches pinging off after being caught on a guard rail
Sunglasses
Shoes and wellies
Handheld GPS's
Car keys
Mobile phones
Replacement air cylinder after your lifejacket has accidently gone off
Oh. And people go over the side as well!!

I guess that's why I tend to be a bit blaze' about a golf ball at £1.50 a pop. It just seems cheap.

Fishing.
I've lost count of the number of times I've done the "perfect" cast only to lose 10 yards of line and a brand new float up a hawthorn bush or in the reeds
;)

Try fishing where there's water the next time Smiff..... :D :D :D
