Is cycling the new golf ???

Intersting read, and I can relate to this. Most of my friends now who are finishing with weekend cricket, football, rugby etc are taking up cycling. They dabble with golf, but there intrest in our game is no where near as energetic as it is for cycling.

What do you think ? agree, disagree ? Cynically.....Is this just the BBC trying to justify why Rory didnt win SPOTY ? and negotiate a lower fee for broadcasting the Open ??
