iron shafts too stiff??

Changed from kbs tour to project x 6.0 a while ago to try reduce my spin rate.


Alot of my iron shots are coming up short and right ( lost around 10 yards) ,not alot right though.decent strike just doesnt feel anything to it, basically a weak push flight.

My swing feels decent and if it werent for the amount of poor irons im hitting i would blame the swing.

So could the new shafts be too stiff for me?

Tried the new shafts to tide me over as il be getting custom fit for next season

Symptoms would suggest that's the case.

How do the shafts actually feel? Do they feel as if they are bending at impact or simply iron bars.

Quite different profiles. KBS Tours are much less boardy than PX and suit 'swinger' types (Luke Donald). PX are more for 'hitter' (Paul Casey) types. I found RX5.5s too boardy, but Rifle 6.0 and KBS Tour Stiff are fine.

Proper fitting should sort it out though.

The shafts feel like iron rods. Had 5.5s a few years ago and loved them.

Never thought i would have had problems with the 6.0s

I couldn't get on with the Project X 6 or 5.5. Way too stiff for me. KBS are a decent shaft. What other shafts have you tried?

lol i couldnt get with the kbs stiff, changed to px 5.5 and made a big difference to me but i think im a hitter no a swinger

Homer. Tried the x100 around a month ago and loved it. S300 px 5.5 and the kbs thats about it mate

Often wondered about a comparison between the big brands as there doesn't seem to be a 'standard' stiff. e.g what is stiffest between; KBS Tour Stiff, Project X 6.0, X100's etc etc

it just shows that all our swings are different, i love the control ive got with a half 9 iron in. my tt dg xp reg were all over the show
