Irish openI

If you have sky you should be able to manually tune in RTE 1 & 2 and it is on there from 1 until 5 tomorrow.

Mark Warren out in 31 this morning, brought the leaders back to him.

Love the highlights where they said joint leader Robert Rock had the round of the day with a new course record 66.
Why is such rubbish journalism tolerated.

Pretty poor field this year for the Irish, I wonder who is playing at Castle Stuart.

quality of the field doesnt help when our 4 "major" winners dont make the weekend tho ..

Rory not down to play til the open now , maybe he should ask for an invite to CS

good signs tho, last time Robert Rock nearly won the open he was beaten by a home amateur by the name of Shane Lowry

What I really enjoyed was hanging around the range, saw most players over the 2 days I attended (Thursday & Friday)
The ball striking is something else.

Followed a lot of different players in course.

A guy whose form looks worrying is Tom Lewis, looked very frustrated. After a great start on tour he seems to be finding it hard to get back on track

He should come right as he has too much talent!

Though just what the trigger is for a resurgence, I have no idea!

He shot 3 under on The Old in the first round at Open Qualifying on Monday and was -5 (total so -2) after 6 on The New. Dropped 7 shots to miss out by miles!

Peter Uihlein struggled for a while and Rose's early woes are well documented.

His chipping & putting didn't look comfortable in any way. Seemed very unsure even with short putts that were pretty much tap ins. Hopefully he works through the current form

David Howell was also in the group , small crowd following so was great to get up close

Very good round today when others faltered and handed it to him.
Not taking anything away from Casey in saying that....he was the only player in contention to go decently under par.

Great to see Paul Casey win again today,he's far to good a player to remain where he was in world golf. He's back after a long road and can put the personal nightmares behind him hopefully and kick on.
