2015 RCD
2017 Lough Erne

Great news for the profile of the courses but my worry would be the increased premium to play them. RCD is already pricey but Lough Erne has been running several £30 comps over the winter and can be played for £50 per person with buggies. Slight fear that opportunity may disappear but at least it means I'm going to see some high profile golf next year and 2017 if there isn't any ticket farces.

:D

RCD is a wonderful course and I hope it gives the players a game. RP is almost as good!

As parkland course go, Lough Erne looks good, but I would prefer the Irish Open to do as The Open and stick to links. If only Ireland had a few good ones .......

Want to play Loch Erne, looks very nice,

It is brilliant and that is part of my concerns. I'm playing it for the 3 time in 12 months at the end of the April. I just hope they don't go all out and start thinking they can charge through the nose for it just because it is going to host the Irish Open. Definitely a bargain at £50 per person for a 4 ball with buggies.

Wonder where in the north they'll host the 2019 one. Apparently going to alternate between north and south every year.

i didn't realise the green fees at Lough Erne were £50. Weren't they well over £100 a while ago?

Great to see the Irish Open come north again. No surprise really, with the way tickets sold for Royal Portrush.

Normally would be in the region of £90 or so but with the £200 4 ball voucher they are £50 a head. Two ball voucher is £60 a head. With buggies at £30 a pop on their own that make the actual fee £35 or £45

Played RCD, RP and LE on an epic holiday Northern Ireland in 2012. Three great courses!

RCD is a real test of golf - I played it off the whites (not far from the champs tees), thought I played well but go nowehere near my handicap (6). Really need to play the front 9 well and then make your score on the back 9. A real ball strikers course - should suit McIlroy!

Stayed at Lough Erne for a week and played it 3 times. First game was in howling wind, played it off the black tees (>7000 yards) and proceeded to lose 14 balls (yes 14!!) Great fun. Next two games in decent conditions off the blacks again and played to within a couple of my handicap. Fantastic condition and a good layout. Some really inviting tee shots - especially the par 5s

Lough Erne is a nice course and the first 4 or 5 holes are pretty spectacular IMO the rest are fairly plain jane though with one exception the 8th. The pro's will destroy it I think.
