Anyone going to upgrade ?

I've had my 4s for 2 years and just got out of contract so was planning to go to the 5s.

Just seen 3's prices this morning.

I'm on the One contract at the moment at £36. To upgrade it's £99 for the phone, so pretty good. BUT £46 for the exact same contract I already have.

I'm actually not sure I'm going to bother upgrading, and actually started to look at Android alternatives.

Anyone jumped from apple to android ?

I currently have 4s & pay £37,no way am I paying £46. I'll stick with the 4s & get my bill down when when my contract is up.

Pretty much what i'm planning to do I think. They do a monthly One Sim for £18 which is exactly the same allowances as I have now.

I can see the point in getting a phone that does little more than the 4s and being out of pocket. Stick the update on and hey presto an iPhone 5s(ish)

Saying that, I'm an Android user/fan but my wife has the 4s and she is going to keep her phone and reduce her contract in Nov

The phone thing is a bit nuts these days - people can't pay mortgages but a new iphone comes out and they buy one for the whole family!

I don't see the value in an upgrade to the 5S, it is just a minor evolution of the existing phones. If I was going to upgrade, it would probably be to the 5C because it won't break every time it gets a knock!

I'm through 3 and my iPhone 4 was up for renewal, went to a Samdung S4 and hated it, so the phone only 2 days old went on Ebay and sold.

So my contract with 3 as £36 on the one plan, when I upgraded to the galaxy it went to £37 on the one plan, but having sold the Galaxy I will now buy a iPhone5S when they are out and put in my sim from my iPhone 4, which means I'll have an iPhone 5S on the one plan for £37 a month, okay I'll have had to shell out for a new iPhone 5S, but that cost is off set by me selling the Samdung S4.

On O2 it's £120 and £37/month unlimited calls and text 1GB data.

Thanks. Might take a look at that.

I do tether quite a lot and three one plan has unlimited data, tethering and 4g when it arrives, won't cost any more. Although not convinced 4g is much use unless you're streaming videos, which I don't.

I'd like to stay with Apple. There stuff does, in the most part, just work.

I have a 4s and the contract ran out around a year ago. Been on giffgaff which is a pay as you go tariff. You must pay £10 per month for unlimited text / data and 300 minutes I think. Runs on the O2 network. Best think I have done for years. I was paying £40 per month. Looked at upgrading to the 5s or 5c but they are just not that much different to the 4s really.

Move to 5, rather than 5s... It will give u all the features and work with iOS7 and is a big upgrade over 4s... Also sold work fine till the next contract upgrade

Depending on who you are with, give them a ring and you'll get a cheaper contract. My wife rang orange/EE and got her £35 a month bill down to £26 just by asking, she was still in contract as well.

Called three on Friday. I can reduce my contract to £18 per month on a 30 day contract with my current 4s (or £15 for a 12 month) with same mins, texts and data, but they won't budge on the 5s contract prices.

I actually done a few sums. It's ~£200 cheaper over 24 months to buy the phone outright for £629 and take out the £15 contract than to take out the 24 month contract for £46 and £99 for the phone.

Pretty sure I'm going to stick with my 4s, I've been running iOS7 on it since wednesday and it's freshened the phone up a bit, quite like it. And for most of the stuff I use the phone for it does the job.

Had a look at a few Android phones today briefly, but wasn't overly impressed.

I think i'll give it a few months and have a think.

I'm in the process of saying goodbye to Apple..going to Android and PC. Apple was miles ahead a few years back. i don't think they are anymore. Gone to the HTC One. HID has upgraded to IOS 7 and is hating it...

Welcome to a world of potential virus' and dodgy apps. I won't leave my comfort blanket that is the apple app store for anything!

A few of my friends had the Galaxy S4 one has sold it and brought the Iphone 5 and the other is thinking about doing the same! they say its just not as smooth as apple!
