So, got hold of my iPhone 5 this morning and spent half an hour or so setting it up via iCloud with my iPhone 4 content.
First impressions are good - it's lighter, thinner, whiter(!!!) and definitely quicker. It's the same width as the 4/4S, but taller so sits nicely in the hand and affords you an extra row of apps on each screen. The new earphones are a VAST improvement on the previous versions too!! Not had the chance to play with Siri yet, but looking forward to doing so.
Downsides - well each of my downloaded apps still appears as if it were on the smaller screen so there are gaps at the top and bottom. Not sure if its up to the individual developers to update for an iPhone 5 version of each or if there will be a separate section on the App Store for '5' apps?
Maps issues have already been well documented, but its no real biggie for me as I rarely used the Google version on the 4 anyway.
I was due an upgrade and am happy that I went for the 5, but not sure if I'd pay up my contract to get one right now if I was half way through a 4S agreement, given that iOS 6 went live on Wednesday past.
