So I have been having issues with my grip for a while resulting in the skin on my 2nd right finger on my right hand rubbing and coming away due to my interlocking grip. It was so sore today I had to switch to vardon with pretty good results.
Has anyone switched and what are the pros and cons of them.

I switched 16 moths ago due to a grip / swing change. When I used interlocking my grip was very strong and going to Vardon has helped me keep the club square. Best thing I ever did!

Switched from interlocking to vardon after about six months of playing, had a lesson and the pro said I should change as it will help me.

I have to say I did notice better results quite quickly once I got used to it.

Switched to Vardon grip about a month ago. Did it more as I was going through lessons and have had lots of changes my swing / stance etc..

Found that it was a nice way to immediately change my initial set up and helped me to not slip back into my old routines.

Interlocking for me... just feels a lot more secure- might be an inexperience thing

Not inexperience at all...
I've been playing high on 25 years - started with the interlock
I've tried the Vardon on occasions but it just feels awkward and uncomfortable.
Can't say I've ever played a round using anything other than an interlock grip.
As they say - good enough for Tiger and Jack.......

I'm your man, I started for about 5 years with an interlocking grip and, in trying to weaken my too strong right hand, tried the Vardon and stuck with it ever since! I could do either and don't think it would really make a difference now, so, for me, no real pros or cons

no reason not to try the vardon grip if it's just the interlock that is giving you the issue.

any kind of soreness of the fingers usually points to some unwanted movement of the handle in the hands/fingers.

the movement, usually a loosening, is more down to the handle being held a little ways in the wrong parts of the hands &/or the grip pressure being too tight at address, or the grip diameter size not correct.
if the hand pressure is too tight right from the off it's impossible to sustain that pressure whole way through the swing so at some point the hands will relax & there will be movement.
check your grip pressure isn't at the 10 end of the scale, if it is, your forearms will be hard/solid, you ideally want the forearms to be soft.

two areas most susceptible to a loosening/re-gripping are just around hip height when the hands set, or at the change of direction at the top.

or if there's a lot of strikes not out of the middle of the club, say off the toe this can also twist the handle in the hands through impact.

would get your grip checked over before you try changing it. as if any of the above is happening it will still happen with the vardon grip.

would get your grip checked over. 200 balls over 2 days shouldn't be giving you that for sure. would guess there's some loosening/re-gripping going on somewhere.

on another issue though maybes 50 balls per 1hr practice session really monitoring what happens with each shot from set up through swing motion might prove more useful.

I changed from Vardon grip to interlocking a few years back. Played for years with Vardon grip, but I found interlocking grip seemed to make the hands work together more. Always felt my hands were separating with Vardon grip. If interlocking grip is good enough for Big Jack ...........
