Orchardleigh has now amalgamated with Long Sutton so either group of members can now play both clubs "free" of charge

I do wonder if the subs will go up as of April now though

Long Sutton has only just gotten over some really bad flooding. Have never played Orchardleigh, but heard good things. Long Sutton is ok...

Orchardleigh is a nice course and a good challenge - in the summer. Gets very very wet in the winter and I wouldn't want to play it every week during those months.

Couple of dodgy holes during winter but mostly good, I played all last year with no trouble

And yes Long Sutton was underwater most of last winter, probably has something to do with this latest development

That said they are an hour apart so it's not like I'll play there all the time

So jealous that you're a member of Orchardleigh! Played it twice, shot 36pts then 42pts, clearly the course likes me! Other than the evil 18th that is!!

Have your subs been affected because of the amalgamation?

I have no idea, I'll enquire when I'm next up there

The 18th is a bugger, my ball is drawn to the water along the edge, doesn't matter where I am on the hole it seems to end up in there!

Played at Orchard Leigh in matches etc. and enjoyed it. Are the two clubs sharing any of the overheads?

I have no idea, I know they were "sister" clubs anyway but have no idea how they work out the costs, wonder if the orchardleigh "team" will take over the admin for both courses? Or visa versa

Apparently the catering at Long Sutton is better so hopefully they'll share that too :Do

I managed, from the middle of the fairway, to stick one on the greenkeepers roof, and the next in the water! Stood on the 18th with an 80, finished with an 88!

Not necessarily. It could just be a way of adding extra benefits to both members to try keep members happy. For example as a member of my club I can play:

Glenbervie
Scotscraig
East Renfrewshire
Lanark

All part of my subs at Glenbervie. Each course is a bit away so not like I would be on them all the time but nice for some variety.

Yeah I suppose, it could be helpful to Long Sutton members as last year they were under water for most of the winter!
