Intelligent it may be, utilitarian and user friendly it is not!!

I know that this type of industry specific software should provide the functionality I want but getting this system to meet those needs is like walking through treacle. It all starts with the question – will it do that. If it won’t do that there’s no point in torturing myself trying to get it to do it. But, before I start, how do I know if it will do that – I’ll ask you?

Prior to Covid paper would go up on the notice board in the locker room for various notifications. During 2020 (with the locker room closed) all of those notifications went on the ‘News’ section of IG (and that has proved to be both convenient and popular).

I would like to us IG in 2021 for the entry sheet for inter-club games. Does IG provide the functionality that would enable me to put up an entry sheet open to members to enter (and delete) their name? If it does, how do I do it?

IG is incredibly user friendly. If you find it a struggle there's no hope for you.

You need to use the match management set up

From there you can create squads that people enter

Once someone is in a squad you then create the fixtures

The squad can see when they are and put down their availability- you can then look at the availability matrix and pick teams from there

When a team is picked it then emails the players

it’s very easy to use

We have (or did) comps where you enter through the IG app. You can add your name, delete your name or whatever. Once it's activated by whoever is in charge it can be done and as a member of my club, it's great.

I do not get involved with doing it but know there are lots of options on it.

E.G Our 28 seniors fixtures are listed and if you want to play in any match you just tick the box.

The organiser sends out an email via IG for those selected.

Thanks - can I know your club . . . I presume I wont be able to see what you describe without logging in but if I can't get it done my end I might contact your seniors' organiser. A big part of my problem is that I have to get permission from the systems administrator and if he says it can't be done I need some evidence that it can be done.

It’s very simple to use and it’s there as standard for IG

It is under competitions on the admin panel and it’s up the competitions banner on your clubs webpage when you log in
