I have been looking at getting one of these as I have recently been finding myself coming off plane in both directions during my downswing resulting in occasional hooks and occasional slices so I was wondering if anyone has any experience of this training aid and if so is it worth purchasing at about £35? Looking at the following video I think it could help as I have used a larger contraption that has a similar effect during a lesson and it helped tremendously but I can't justify spending the £150 on this (the NMS fault fixer) at the moment. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PzNXplA6V8I

Cheers.

Can you not make one with meccano and some pipe lagging?
Or, just put a headcover just outside the line a bit behind the ball?

If you are hitting occasional hooks AND slices, it might not be an inconsistent path?

Are they real hooks or pull hooks?

They are probably more of a normal hook than a pull hook if I am honest Dave. Thinking about it though I may have given the wrong idea- its not that I will hit a hook one shot and then a slice the next I just go through stages where I am either hooking my woods (none of these problems relate to my irons at the moment- touch wood) or slicing them as I am either getting trapped on my downswing resulting in a vigorous hand movement and as such a hook or coming over the top and slicing it due to cutting across the ball so I was hoping that I could use this in its various modes to help with both these problems. The reason I couldn't make one is that it is designed so that the foam part falls off when hit and as such doesn't damage your clubs (as in the video) and whilst I acknowledge if you are doing it properly you won't hit it with my inconsistency I am unwilling to risk it.

If on the other hand you have an alternative solution I am all ears :D

I had one of these - tried it out, thought it was gimmicky and sold it on.
Save your money.

Doesn't sound too bad to me.....keep practicing until a consistent path shows up, then deal with that.

My pro gave me 3 lessons (over a few weeks) to get rid of three distinctive faults. I won't go into it, but I've been fighting a fade-come-slice now for a while (since the changes).....I know what I need to work on, but it's hard graft.
