Just had a new central heating boiler installed today and as is usual with these things there's a couple of sticky labels on the front of it.
" No problem " thinks I, " They'll be easy peel.

Not!

They're the sticky labels that come off 1mm at a time and leave the glue on.

So after about 15 minutes of fingernail scratching and soaking with soapy water I'm really peed off but determined to complete the task.

(Here comes the stupid bit)

The wife comes in from work then and finds me scooting lighter fluid onto the (lit) boiler and rubbing it with paper towels.

The air was blue.

Made a lovely job though.

One was about 6" square in the middle of the boiler to remind me to register it for an extended guarantee ( already done)
and the other was to remind the fitter to remove the transit screws after mounting on the wall.(presumably done)

I think I'll email the manufacturer and have a rant.

I'm in that kind of mood. ;)

These wouldn't be the same baskurd labels you get on golf clubs would they?

I wonder if anyone remembers "Our Price" record shops.

I used to go and only buy an LP if they could get the label off. The till lads and lasses thought I was mad.

More fool them, when they were trying unsuccessfully to remove the "£5.99" label (without ruining the sleeve) from the 8th copy of "For those about to Rock...."
