As its my first lace purchase, this time there off the shelf, however if all goes well
I will get fitted.
This time ive gone with standard 220cm

Rookie error there PJ. It's a commonly known fact that the manufacturers have been slowly increasing the length of the laces, as it allows them to make better claims about the performance. In actual fact, it makes your shoes much harder to control, with all the excess length.

If I were you, I would see your local pro, and see if he can chop them down (equally off each end) to 200cm (height dependent).

You might not see your footsteps go as far, but you should be able to walk in a much straighter line.

My wife would have done the same, she no understand fashion or golf.

I have just ordered 3 different colour shoe laces.
Green, red and yellow to match my tops.
Will it look good or bad?

You also have to be careful when ordering online from un-authorised sellers. I've been caught out twice now like this. The first time I was sent through two left shoelaces which I didn't notice until after my round. It was awful. I had no control of where my shoes were going. The second time I got what I thought were the perfect laces and turned up to play in a comp only to be told be one of my playing partners that the laces were "non-conforming" and it would be a 2 shot penalty if I played wearing them. Cue a mad dash to the pro shop to swap them for R&A permitted laces.
