Just a thought, but, could a golfer with a handicap of or around 18 honestly tell the difference between a two piece and a three piece ball?
I usually use yellow Z-Stars, and have convinced myself that they are ideal for me, but, for instance, AD333's are half the price! Would I really notice the difference to such a point that I should stick to Z-Stars?
I'll be buying a few tomorrow as I'm off to Spain on Tuesday and I see that AD333's are available in yellow .
Am I just kidding myself that Z-Stars are better for me when I'm not really that good a player?
Oh, if it makes a difference, my driver swing speed is around 96mph.
Thanks for the advice guys .

I like ZStar and AD333, the new ad333 are much nicer than previous years. I doubt you'll see that much difference to be honest, possibly only a 'slightly' harsher feel off the wedges.

I play off 17 and play titleist velocity a two piece ball.lost it on 5th hole so got a Calloway iz tour out.which I think is a four piece ball.made no difference to my game.nice off the putter.

I don't think you're kidding yourself. Play with a decent ball and you will get better results on the better shots and they wil help your score!

Enjoy Spain!

If YOU think that it is a better ball and is good for your game then that is the ball to use. Positive thinking goes a long way in this game.

ZStar to Ad333 nope
Zstar to prov1 absolutely. Noise off the driver is slightly different but around the greens is where you will notice it most, so really, the ad333 will do you rightly if cost is more than marginally different.

Said it before and a hundred times in between - fit your ball around your putter and your wedge. Everything else (driver included) is immaterial. Never be guilty of "playing the label". As for 2-piece v 3-piece - if you can't tell the difference, then who in the world cares? Oh and one final thing - it's a golf ball. It's not like they're a rare commodity and cost over £100 each. You probably spend more on flights to Spain..

Went to get some Ad333's today and took a last minute swerve, for no real reason other than touch around the greens, and got some Srixon Soft Feels.
I'm not really sure why ........................... maybe a feeling from within.
Are they any good? I guess I'll be finding out soon enough. If not, at least I would have learnt something!

they are one of a few balls I play in amongst the ProV1s, Z-stars, Lethals etc

I can tell the difference; but that's the wrong question!

I like the feel of all the clubs - the practical difference is in the spin levels when I need them; that comes and goes with courses and conditions....which is why I'm happy to play one one day and a ProV the next.

I think you can tell the difference between different balls. Take a PRO V1 against a TM LETHAL. I do not see or feel any difference between the 2 on full shots, but I prefer the feel of the LETHAL on and around the greens.

But I have been in the position you are. I tried the NXT Tour-S and to be honest I do not think they performed much worse than a PRO V1, I just found them a little bit firmer off the putter face and did not check up as quick on chip shots.

I think there is a distinct difference between AD333 (which I use in winter) and the Z star, predominantly off the putter. The two piece is distinctly firmer and comes off quicker. That's important to me, especially when greens get quicker. If you asked the same question using mid irons then arguably not. However as I can tell the difference in an area that matter I prefer the three piece.

However, like anything though it comes down to preference. If you can't tell the difference, don't care about how it feels off the putter (or wedges) and don't want to pay the extra cost of a 3 piece then AD33 are a decent ball in their own right.

Tried the ad333 Tour this weekend ... loved it. Felt great off every club, decent spin on wedges and sits right between the ZStar and ad333 price wise.

The Srixon soft feels are an excellent ball for the price. I use them most of the time. Softer around and on the greens than the AD333. They are, however, suited to slower swing speeds around the 85 to 90 range I believe.
