I joined a new club after about 10 years of being away from club membership. I was really hoping for a handicap of 20 so that I could be a Cat 3 (and officially a bit "m'eh" in the golfing hierarchy) for the first time ever. I was quite disappointed to get a handicap of 26.

But now, a couple of months after joining, I've had a couple of really good weeks and had cuts and a general play adjustment to 18.0. Really pleased with myself. My best handicap by a country mile, but I have to admit I'm a little bit nervous without my safety blanket of 2 shots somewhere.
