It's my birthday this week so have money to burn for a little while and I want a new bag.

My 1st choice is the TaylorMade Monaco.

Are there any others I should be considering in your opinions? or any experience, good or bad of the bag above?

Cheers

Totally agree with it looking boring, but I don't feel I am good enough to have equipment that makes people look at me!!!

And well found on ebay, slightly dubious spending so much on there, but at that saving it may be worth it.

Spoff if its worth anything to you, I use ebay all the time, and with over 2000 feedback reports at 100% I would jump at it personally for that price.

Thanks Tony,

I've sent the seller a question. I have family in Cumbria so if he has a shop it could well be the place where I get cutom fitted too

Hi Spoff, It just goes to show the difference in opinion. I’ve got one of those bags and it’s in the shed. It’s a disappointment because it wants to rotate on the cart all the time. Think it’s because it’s more oval in shape and the weight distribution means it wants to move. I’m still using an old Hippo cart bag, it’s perfectly round, that I’ve had for the last 4 or 5 years and it miles better.

I will never buy a bag again without firstly trying my clubs in it, or better still trying one out that someone else has got.

Just my opinion.

Tommo, could it be the cart its self? I had a standbag that sat really well on my pull cart but on my old fella's it was a nightmare!

Interesting, the reason I am replacing my current stand bag is because it constantly rotates on the trolley and winds me up!

If this does the same it will be a pointless purchase!!!

I know Powakaddy are redesigning the bracket where the top of the bag rest on to prevent the bag turning, but if you dont want to wait and buy a posh new one, try this tip
Find yourself a piece of foam, preferably black and about 1 to 2 cms thick and 15cms long and stick it to the bracket on the trolley with double sided sticky tape. When you do up the strap or elastic cord, the bag should grip the foam and not move.
I have a big bag that used to move around but with the foam, it stays putt. Give it a go, how hard can it be. lol

Even better idea Spoff, why dont you fix the trolley and take the money you WERE going to spend on the new bag and buy her a lovely present. Jewellery or expensive perfume. Think of the browny points, the early nights and extra free golf passes that would earn you.
Me? Sneaky? Never

Hmmm.

spend money on the wife or golf. Not really a difficult decision to make to be honest. Been married 8 years this year so the following slogan is appropriate here:

Golf
Kid
Wife
in that order

Besides, if I didn't buy the bag the money would be spend on either the 3 or 5 wood that I am saving for next!

I bought this very bag for £60 something last year- It is a lovely bag, real quality feel.
I don't think it looks boring, but then mine's a red n black version!

I do like the red and black version, but like I said earlier, I'm much more suited to blending into the background until my golf improves!!!

I personnally wouldnt go for that bag but it is a totally personal thing.

I would concentrate of having what you need for all weathers.

I have my Ultralight Ping Moon Bag for perfect dry days, has not been used for a while.

My stand carry bag for when I may need waterproofs.

My Tour bag and trolley for when I need to keep everything dry.

I check the weather the night before as I usually play comps early doors to get back and keep the family happy and choose which bag to best cover the options.

I bought a Wilson cart bag not so long ago - won't bother telling you which as I wouldn't get another.
Point was I bought it online from a photo and a description - Wrong! **

It was as described but the description didn't say that the clothes pockets are cut too tight, that full-length dividers only applies to some of them or that the 'external' putter well is too short.

Find one and check it out before you buy.

** actually this was a replacement for the initial order of a Hippo bag on which the seams unravelled because they had been stitched too close.
