After a long time away with a serious injury I have been given the green light to start playing golf again.

I have maintained a bit of putting practise and chipping but in a weeks time I will be hitting balls on the range again for the 1st time.

A lot has changed for me, I now have a 2nd child, a little lad called Roman.

Missed the banter on here, and missed my golfing chums from here too.

Look forward to contributing to this forum once more and will hopefully see a few of you soon.

Cheers, Jon.

Hi John

I'm glad to hear you're nearly over your injury.

As someone who was told he'd never swing a club again, I know how it feels to come back from serious injury.

:)

Good to hear from you again mate. It's been so long since you posted, i thought you had left us and gone to some fishing forum or something.

Ease yourself back into it. You don't want to do anything rash and risk the back again.

Have you got some playable irons yet? :) :)

If you will excuse the expression, I'm looking forward to playing with you again soon :)

Welcome back jon, glad your fit enough to swing a club pal.

Have fun trying new kit too.

When they showed Zane Scotland playing the 18th yesterday at the Open I immediately thought of you Jon!

Funny to hear from you the same day.

Welcome back.

Welcome back John, glad to here your on the road to recovery , you've now taken the first step towards becoming an addict again by coming back on here. congratulations on the new arrival, obviously your back wasn't that bad :o

Wont be going mad thats for sure but I should be fine.

Already started playing football again, playing in goal and diving about and no ill-effects.

I am looking forward to swinging it again though, I have been told to try and reign it in a bit until I am suppleish again so no mad-swings just yet.

Really have missed playing golf, missed the banter, missed the feeling of cracking a drive down the middle or sticking a 100yd wedge within 3ft.

Most of all though I have missed taking certain people on heres money off them!!!

Hey up Jon,
Welcome back matey. Best advice I can give you is to stick to one set of clubs and work at the game, start into it gently, maybe take a wedge to the range for the first few visits.
