If you put someone on ignore, what happens please? Obviously I don't see any of that person's posts, does this extend to any threads they start as well?

I've tried it and didn't like it.

It's worse seeing they posted but not know what they said than reading the drivel itself.

Sorry about that mate, I'll try to keep the drivel to a minimum in future ;)

I adopted it a couple of weeks ago and it's improved my "forum experience".

Although I agree with Region3 that you do wonder what drivel has been posted, but I just quickly reassure myself that I'm better off having not read it.

Not sure about this forum, but on our footy board if someone else quotes the person you have on ignore you can see their post in the quote. Not very helpful!

Other forums also have a link on the blocked post which says - show this post ?!

agreed, tried it on two that just infuriated me the way they spoke to people in general, but curiosity got the better of me and when their posts surpassed ludicrous I now find them amusing to read- go figure:mmm:

It's weird seeing people replying to something that you're not sure what it says - have tried ignore a few times and always came back to 'normal mode'. It's just as easy to see that someone has posted and just scroll past it if you don't want to read what they put.

That's the best way to do it I found

You'd have thought more than just Region 3 would have replied to this thread. I must update my ignore settings.

So does this one - but it didn't work last time I tried it!

And you might (but I doubt it) recall this post in the thread that highlighted that fault...

Why would someone have someone on ignore then want to look at what they have posted ?!

But I suspect you have me on 'Ignore' anyway

Ignore?!

They're the posts I want to read. In the main, their ramblings restore my faith in the inclusive nature of our society, i.e. that it will allow nutters to roam so freely.
