Ok, so in the search for putter number 417 of 2013, I think I have a good idea of what I'm looking for. Lessons and practice aside (let's put them in a box and put that box on a shelf) I want a putter I'm comfortable with. The Nome came closest, but alas, not close enough. So, if you kind people are bored and for want of anything better to do on this wet Sunday, kindly assist me in looking for a putter that meets the following requirements? Much obliged.

  1. Mid mallet (nothing too mahoosive)
  2. Plumbers neck
  3. Central sight line (additional lines ok but must have central one)

417 of 2013... Can I suggest counselling for OCD. Failing that, get an old Gooseneck putter and, if you're right handed, putt left handed for awhile until any OCD thoughts are forgotten.

Try the Odyssey Marxman Mini, although not sure what a plumbers neck is or if it has one. It certainly meets the other two requirements though, and I love mine.

Not too sure about Plumber's Neck with Mallets.

If you can handle Swan (I think) Necked ones, Yes Victoria and Marilyn are nice. Marilyn is face balanced.

Could be better, and cheaper to get properly fitted. Heard of these guys? http://www.break30.com/break30_register.asp
Shaun sorted a couple of my putting issues out very rapidly at a Scottish Golf show some years go.

No question. Scotty California Del Mar. OK, the one I have just purchased has a swan neck (I think), but I wanted a blade with a plumbers neck, so I was looking at the Monterray, but the Del Mar feels just fantastic and makes putting a pleasure. The ball comes off the face so sweetly. My mate had a go with it and couldn't believe it. It will really suit you if you need a toe weighted putter and /or if you have an arc stroke.

If you have tried umpteen different kinds then you should not limit yourself to a certain spec, and seems like it is not the putter that needs changing but your putting.
