which three in history would you alter?

I'd go for:

87 Masters. Cruelty in the extreme on Greg Norman.
99 USPGA. Had Garcia emerged victorious methinks he would have won a few more majors.
2009 Open. Unbelievable performance from Tom Watson. Such a shame he couldn't par the 72nd.

So what would you change?

I agree with the 2009 Tom Watson one - I was willing him to take it.

The other one that sticks in my mind is the Phil Mickleson Masters win 2010 - I would change the one shot from the pine needles to the 12th green then Lee Westwood would have had one major at least and probably more.

I'd remove the two bogeys from Fowlers card in the final round at the 2014 PGA Championship. Would have forced an epic playoff with Rory, and I'd like to have seen Fowler win it from there. He's going to win a major eventually anyway, but would have sky-rocketed his career that little bit earlier to win one in 2014.

Well, of the one hit wonders, Todd Hamilton, Ben Curtis, Webb Simpson, Shaun Micheel wouldn't have one, and of multiple winners, Hale Irwin, Lee Janzen and Andy North wouldn't have any.

Sergio and Monty would have one each.

Rory would have a Masters.

Erm...Hale Irwin won more than one major.

Can I have 4 please?!!

86 Masters - whilst Nicklaus' back 9 charge was immense, desperately wanted Seve to win.
87 Masters - after 86 I was desperately hoping Seve would bounce back!
04 Masters - Wanted Els to win and couldn't believe that a 67 final round still saw him lose to Mickelson.
06 US Open - I stayed up and was willing Monty on and remember cheering as he made that huge putt on 17; and thinking there was no way he could lose it after finding the fairway on 18.....................!!!

Non-major it has to be either the 91 or 99 Ryder Cups; no place for that kind of behaviour in the sporting arena.

Jean van de velde in 1999 had a big bet on him before the start of round 3
I believe was still a big price and I think he was leading or in the top 3 it was a long time ago.
I don't know who felt worse me or him at the time.
Great year for Utd though so took away some of the pain.

The first Masters Watson won

The Open that Cink won

And last years Open

Yeah, ".... of multiple winners, Hale Irwin ...".

He won 3 US Opens all on terrible courses with ribbon fairways and knee deep rough 6 inches off the fairway with players hacking out.

Never liked him.

:whoo: Got to admit that he did look great coming through the crowd and waving his white hanky at Royal Lytham in 1979 after Seve blew him away!!

No arguments there and if I could choose only one it would have to be the 2009 Open.

In addition to those, how about at least giving Hogan the chance to tee it up in the 1953 US PGA, with the other 3 majors under his belt already that year it would have been a shot at history.

The Opens won by Calcavecchia, Hamilton, Curtis, Leonard, Lehman, O'Meara, Duval, Cink and Johnson!!
