It has to be the samsung note. I had mine delivered yesterday and initial impressions are pretty good. First of all, it is large but it has such a fantastic screen (1280x800 resolution, better than any 720p HD ready tv out there!) and over all functionality puts the iphone ( I have had the 3gs and 4 previously) into the shade easily. Battery life is pretty good too.
Apps are plentiful too, I was browsing them last night and stopped looking after around 400 or so with oodles more to go. Internet browser works well and doesnt automatically dump you into each and every mobile version first which was nice.
Anyway, this isnt a review just thought Id recommend it.

bit large for me but I am looking to upgrade soon and the reputation of Samsung is growing massively in this area so will be high on my list. Was going Apple but know so many people who have found Ios5 so slow that they have gone to Android.

Not heard of slowness on ios5 .... Except for on the older hardware, if your getting a 4s I wouldn't have thought it would have a problem.

Yea it is large, you can fit the entire iphone 4 inside the screen footprint but thats what has drawn me to it, it is just so out there compared to other phones. It does have gorilla glass though, hardened with heat and chemicals. There is a guy on youtube rubbing a pair of scissors on it without scratching it but wouldnt fancy trying that myself!
The screen size, resolution and camera ability make it a winner for me away from the actual phone operation.

I had ios5 on my iP4 and it was a little laggy to be honest.
GB why not look at the note or the next size down ,nexus whichis still quite a monster of a phone in its own right?

a bit late for me now as i ordered my first smartphone yesterday.i bought the htc wildfire s and i'm looking forward to getting the hang of it.it will be completely new to me as i have never had one before.

I've just switched from an Iphone to a Wildfire S. I got it last week and I'm chuffed with it. Seems to do everything my Iphone did and for half the amount I was paying a month. The saving should keep me in Pro V's for the season, happy days.

Ive got a HTC desire which Ive had for about a year now, it is a good piece of kit and android have finally sorted the market out (I thought it was pretty poor before) that said I still think my next upgrade will be an iPhone, the 4s is gorgeous and siri is just awesome
