That's the attitude of the SKY Sports presenter last night - how very feckin' considerate of him!

I was thinking about complaining about his attitue (which always seems very drole and negative) but I don't even know his name? Should I complain? An attitude like that when many people love the sport even though they ARE crap is frankly disgusting.

Here's the vid from my TV...

"sometimes you look at amateur players and you do wonder why they bother playing the game"

Not nice, not called for.... if people like the guy in the vid didn't play anymore the ass would fall out of golf sponsorship, surely it's the 'crappier' players that support this game rather than the guys at the top.

Thoughts?

nb: I don't Twit, Twotter or BookFace, so if someone wants to 'ping', 'twoot' or 'reference' this vid to their friends or those in high places please do!!

That amateur (Chris Berman, US sports "announcer") was pretty bad.

Not sure it is fair to suggest these people give up the game entirely, but I can't imagine why you want to appear on global TV playing like that.

They were quite supportive of the same guy whos playing the shot in the bunker.

Hes got a really bad hip and left knee and i know they were talking about it and saying how if he sorts it out he'd be a good player, but i remember him saying about it and i just took it as tounge in cheek.

I am utter rubbish at it - but still enjoy it; having invested a not inconsiderable amount of dosh in it I won't be giving up any time soon.

I do have a habit of picking difficult hobbies though, hence my guitars which I have accepted I will never do justice.

If I do ever pack the golf in then I will take up stamp collecting - how hard can that be?

To be fair if I played like some of those total choppers that were on show last night I would pack it all in.....cannot be any fun surely.

It always puzzles me when they show this event how men playing off 3,4 and 5 etc look utterly horrific....is the handicapping system totally different in the States....like 15 different??

Heard a similar comment from one of the top pro's following a round in the Dunhill last year. Some people just don't understand that without the masses supporting the game the game would have the same financial clout as croquet.

i remember seeing that, another thing that annoyed me was them complaining about how some of the amateurs fooling around might put the players off,and where money is concerned and fedex cup points it's not on.but c'mon, its all fun and games and the money these guys raise for charity is unbelievable.i think its great for the game when you see them having a good laugh and joking.

somehow woods managed to convince them to allocate a scratch handicap to the fella, how he managed that i do not know.

I guess as the pros in effect play off scratch in the pro-am. Be a bit daft if on SI 18 Romo is giving a shot back to the course whilst Woods is not.

I enjoy watching the american golf on Sky but just don't understand this competition and can't muster any enthusiasm for it. Multi-course, pro am events - yeah would love to play in one but don't want to watch it on TV.
