If tips were reversed do you think you’d get one each time you ate out?

Following the ‘Tipping’ thread & for fun, how do you rate yourself as a customer? (& how do you think others would rate you) and I don’t mean how much/how often you spend

Do you expect smiles & good service even if you’re not smiling & being openly pleasant yourself or do you proactively set out to do whatever you can to engage with the person serving you to help make sure the service will be as good as it can whether that’s eating out, at the checkout, in a taxi, over the phone or even making a complaint

As wrong as it sounds do you typically set yourself up to receive good/bad customer service

And yes I fully acknowledge anyone working in this sector is already paid to deliver a certain level of service but taking into account the human factor we know already that it’s not a given

I'm a good customer, always polite to staff, smile and engage, try to make it easy for them etc. They should all tip me!

I'm a great customer, I hardly stare at boobs at all any more.

When I was 18 I worked part time as a waiter 3 nights a week. If ever you needed a lesson in being polite to staff that was it. I served all sorts of nasty people but really appreciated a friendly smile, common courtesies etc. You realise how the basics are all that is required. I make an extra effort to be helpful and pleasant to waiters, a friendly smile goes a long way and costs nothing. I would get a big tip from staff, I am a very good customer to deal with.

Similar to Lord T, but I once had a job cold telemarketing... Now that's a job with not much appreciation! I am always polite to cold callers now, until they don't take the third NO...
