If there was only one band or artist that you could listen to.........

Bit of a strange one but someone like Free and 'Alright now'. Considering it was written around the late 60's it is certainly more timeless than the beatles etc and that opening played on the car stereo or hifi with plenty of bass is fantastic.

Did you ever hear Pepsi & Shirley's version from the latter part of the 80's. It actually wasn't bad!!

For me it would have to be AC/DC and, in particular, Back in Black

My brother was in Sydney when they happened to have a couple of nights shows there, apart from having one guy trying to have a go at him (chiefchief, he played at Castle Stuart weekend, he is a fairly experience doorman) he said it was brilliant. He still has his ACDC dollars from easily 15-18 years ago at the Kings Hall in Belfast.

Tough one. I though initially Queen, then changed to Floyd. Forgot about the Who and Genesis, Marillion and Dire Straits who are all among my favourite artists. Part after all due considertion I'd have to plump for the melodies of Perry Como :D

Good call on the Back In Black album. But could you listen to AC/DC ad infinitum?

That's the tricky thing with the question.

I think that I could, I listen to it just about every Friday on the way home from work to get me out of work mode and ready for the weekend.

hello all...meant to going abroad this weekend for 2 wks!
SWMBO has bought me a new MP3,managed to get Simple Minds,Matt Munro,Frank Sinatra,Beautiful South,Annie lennox,Duffy,Dido,Rolling Stones ,The Who,Stereophonics,Travis, beyonce,Susan Boyle and about 27 others on there.I love them all!
Dont think you can just pick one!!
Does it not depend on the mood you,re in???

In which case that would probably leave the Beatles, they must have pretty much the widest range of styles of music, and number of albums, out of everyone. So you're less likely to get suicidal after a while.

I mean, my initial thought was Stone Roses, they haven't done a duff track ( well not totally duff ), but they've only got 2 albums, and it's not the widest range of styles, is it?

But I also love everty track the Jam and the Clash have done. Elvis Costello is another with a wide range of styles. Glen Miller's not bad.

I'm confused now.
