As the title suggests, if you could hit tee shots like Bubba's on the 13th, how much lower would your handicap be?

I've no idea how to work this out  What I can say is if I hit tee shots like Bubba did on the 1st or 2nd then my handicap would stay the same of go up slightly :D

I said 7-8; the distance alone would mean many more wedge shots (DRIVER AND SAND WEDGE ONTO A PAR 5!?!?!?) AND driving a good few par 4's... must be worth 7 shots?

I said 3-4 shots, driving is already my strong point but could be improved if I was a tad longer. Problem is I keep putting like Rory & Westwood.

Like Gil I've gone 3-4.

I hit the ball well enough and am tidy around the greens but being able to reduce the par 5's at our place to Driver, SW and the same with the longer par 4's I would think would probably give me a 3 shot advantage at least over my current game.

Really hard to say.... is it hitting his distance with all clubs or just driving it like Bubba? Truth is he'd never hit driver at my course, unless he was playing for laughs and trying to drive every green.... With his length he'd tear the course apart without ever hitting a wood.

I said 0. I would still find fresh ways of making a mockery of each hole. As he proved, it can go wrong too and 350 into tress at my course can take you to parts David Attenborough could make documentaries about

In the spirit the thread was intended I have gone for 9-10

I reckon that on a great day it would mean that 7 of my courses par 4's would become drivable rather than drive and approach shot (or as close as you can be without actually being on the green) and two par 5's would become 2 shots to the green rather than 3. The rest of the par fours would still be 2 shots minimum and of course the par threes are not in there either.

Yes, yes I know its not finished there and the short game is more important but this is dream land and I don't have to worry about that

Driving like that is only beneficial when the par 5s allow you to take the mick, lets be honest the masters although a beautiful looking course is just a putting competition and Bubba had a small advantage because he could make more putts for less damage. I don't think being off line is to punitive there either, how many times have we seen a wayward Woods under the trees on the husky stuff and making par or birdie?? Also take Bubba's first masters that shot out would have been impossible at most courses, the lie would have been horrific and the trees would offer no gap.. Sorry but If I hit it that far with a driver i think I would have to reign it in a bit. Besides I don't have everyone looking for my ball (which would mean at least 5 shots less !!) nor do I have a crowd to fire it into for a lucky rebound or tramped down lie...

Although that shot on 13 was impressive, if I was the green keeper he would have found some 3" tall lush grass. There are places on the course that don't need to be trimmed but left long.

I conservatively opted for 5 - 6 as the weakest part of my game for the last 18 months has been from the tee, I have a solid enough short game from close to the green, but at the moment I rarely even get close to the green in regulation.

"Putt for dough"?..............pah! - that only works assuming you can get there!

Zero for me as my driving is not too bad it is around the greens that is my issue, its all good and well smashing slightly above the Forum average of 350 yards but you will still need to pitch, chip and putt :)
