I organise annual golf trip for a dozen or so happy hackers. We are based in Surrey, generally stick to UK and like to play 4 rounds on at least 2 different courses with limited driving (and maximum drinking)

Recently (last 10 years) we have done ...

St Mellion x 2
South Wales (Vale and Celtic)
Belton Woods
East Sussex National
Abbotsley
Stoke by Nayland
Dartmouth
Dorset GCC
Bournemouth Tour

Before I crack on to golf breaks...any recommendations?

what time of year are you planning on doing your trip?

Thorpeness in Suffolk is nice, decent hotel onsite and a good course plus a few others close by worth playing (Purdis Heath in Ipswich, Aldeburgh or Felixstowe Ferry)

Saunton, and get a game at Burnham & Berrow on the way down. You could play both Saunton courses and Royal North Devon.

St. Enedoc is stunning.
Try and get a deal at Woburn / Worplesden / Woking?

Depends on how far you wanna travel. But forest pines near Scunthorpe has 3 X nine holes. 18 one day and play the other nine plus nine from first day. Nice courses.
Again depends on how much you wanna pay but Woburn for the British masters in October really did look stunning and ticked a lot of boxes.
