I played today and..(Rolling) -originally created by JohnnyDee

Played with CVG & The Bald Blind Cripple ( Its A Miracle ) this morning early doors
The forecast was not fabulous, so CVG & I decided we would put in 9 hole cards in case we were deluged from above

I got 17 points for my 9, which I should be reasonably happy with, However I only scored on 6 holes. had 4 gross pars which accounted for 14 of them (2 of them on Par 5's) and 3 blobs
3 silly shots cost me a half decent card (2nd shot into a bunker- 2 to get out on a par 4 / a duffed pitch onto the green, which went sailing through on a par 3/ a wayward 9 iron on a par 3 deep into the bushes

I know I have some very low ( for me) scores on the horizon, i just need to stay in play

CVG got 20, with 0 blobs

Let's not talk about your par putt on 15 that, had it not hit the pin squarely in the middle, would left you a 20 footer coming back eh... :ROFLMAO: ;)👏

Today is mid week stableford competition day. Usually we play in it but the weather was a bit unpredictable so we opted not to and avoid a penalty score (🤯) . It rained on off during the front 9 and then the wind came in and blue everything away and we had a bright windy back 9. New putter was out and performance was good a couple of missed opportunities but 3 birdies and a round of 74 was a pleasing result. We opted to play off the yellows. I actually don’t see much advantage being off them as they are on 15 holes just 10 yards or less difference to the white tees. The other 3 holes there is an advantage but only if you struggle with a long iron or don’t have a go to 190 yard club.
So for me I was dropping back to my 5 wood off the tee instead of a driver and this was putting me in similar places if I was off the white tees.
I was really out there to get more experience with my new putter. I am still a bit wobbly on the short ones. But we were laughing that inside 9ft I struggle every thing beyond that is a birdie opportunity 😳.. time will tell though and more work on my putting is required.

Played Pairs Open at Evesham yesterday. Odd set up, 9 greens, two sets of tees. Four of the second set of tees were very different, so helped the feel. But several green complexes were quite odd and overall I wasn't a fan😉 eg 4th, blind last 60 yards to green down a steep slope. Both playing partner and I hit similar approaches, bouncing quite close together. My ball finished 10 feet from flag, his was never seen again!

But, a very friendly place, the event was good value and there were super views across the river.

So, mixed feelings... but that's another course ticked off.😁

Quite frankly rammel. I was so bogged off today I ended up chucking the driver a couple of yards in front of me. It was pure purgatory. After 7 holes I had 7 points. I then birdied 8 and 9. It was the same on the back nine. Quite purgatory with the ball going everywhere. The second time I lobbed the club was on our 16th. I thought I had hooked me ball into some trees. I played a provisional. smacked that with my 4th shot. A PP then said “ Tash your first ball is there. The ball was on the fairway. I continued playing that ball and parred the hole. I then birdied the 17th. My 3rd flippin birdie. A par on the last. In 7holes I had shot 24 points. The other 11holes 10 points. Am not a happy bunny. Bloody game. It was awful.

The weather wasn't great today and most people cried off playing in our stableford, but 3 of us went out and to be honest we did pretty well weatherwise. i played very steady on the front nine, a couple of 3 putts but also a nice birdie and I had 18 points, sadly on the back 9 my putting really let me down with 4 3 putts holes and I only scored 14 points. Apart form my putting I only hit a couple of iffy shots and scored on every hole. In total there were only 6 who played in the competition which was a shame.

More annoyance at the golf club that doesn't allow booking 1 ball on their BRS system.

Whenever I ring up, they always say it's not busy, just turn up, and there will be a lot of tee times available. Wanted to get out kind of early, so chose a 12 pm tee off as there weren't many bookings before and afterwards. I turn up, and they say it costs £35, I was like, on the brs page it says £20 after 12, yeah, if you book online. I said I can't book 1 ball online. £20 rounds are from 3 pm onwards. So I was there and took the day off to play, and wasnt going to wait 3hours for a £20 round, so had to pay £15 more, which quite frankly pissed me off for the whole front 9.

It was windy, shot 90, everything was bang average - just got home before the heavens completely opened

wrote to the golf club on their social media about my experience today. It's becoming too much of a chore to either ring up, and no one answers, or 'just turning up', and the tee times have gone. So until I hear back from them, I will take my golf and my money to another course, which is annoying as it's literally a 10-minute walk from my office to the first tee  , perfect for a quick round

Seniors open, 4bbb, at Bedlington GC today. Very windy but we got lucky and avoided the heavy showers that were in the area. It's a long course, a tough course. We ended up with 37 points and were very happy with that. We left a few out there but not many.

Generally played well. Got a little close to the ball on a few tee shots but managed to work that out and fix it. Very pleased with my second, long, shots. Not overly long but I was consistent and that made a big difference.

Greens were slow, probably due to recent rain. Took everyone a while to adapt but in the end I got there. Tough with greens as large as they are there.

Enjoyable afternoon. It's a course well worth playing if you are in the area.

First game since getting back to uk

just 18 holes for orientation at new course
Really enjoyed it but Jeez I'm unfit!

Didn't help the course is on a mountain (not calling it a hill) and I've been sat in a buggy for over a decade and I decided to carry today , a least i know that's the toughest it'll play now the first ones done

Remember that quote when you play a game in January/February 😄

We had a 3 man scramble today in the roll up due wanting to beat the weather. My nemesis the 1st hole strikes again just can’t get a decent tee shot away no matter what club I pick. Have managed to rediscover my hooks with the driver from absolutely nowhere, so was reliant on the mini which was working lovely.

Swing is all over the place but am continuing to focus on the fundamentals. Highlight for me was flushing a 4 iron at the 245yd par 3 10th hole to 20 feet and rolling that in for only our 2nd birdie of the day.

Between us we played every approach from the fairway, we had 16 really good birdie chances and only made 2!! One at the 1st and the other at the 10th! Yet I’d say we all putted well just nothing dropped. Must have been a common thing as we were the lowest score out there 😂

First game back after our huge holiday. I have a stiff neck, pulled, and very painful groin, eye watering when stretched, somethings up with me right foot, been like this for weeks, threw my bag into the car early doors, got to the club, got the bag out, no driver or 5 wood. Begged a driver off the pro shop, crap Ben Sayer Cmr off set thing.

24 points

Great company tho', enjoyed the round

Out early as usual and this game is just taking and not giving right now.
3 or 4, what seemed like perfect, shots weren't rewarded but got punished severely, leaving almost impossible up and downs.
Hard bounces, soft bounces and anti gravity slopes....
33 points isn't a bad return but it should have been so much better.
Ellesborough is just such an unforgiving course even if you hit it right.
She just looks at you, laughs and gives you the finger.....and that's why I love playing there... :ROFLMAO:

Very nice, a flushed 245 yard 4 iron does not compute with me .
A drive maybe providing it is downhill with the wind onto concrete.
