Well I managed to carry Thursdays good play (80 from boxes) into todays club comp. Went out like a rocket but lost a few strokes coming back, I think I had started to think about a score. I carded an 84 nett 65, the css was 68 when I left the club so a cut is coming my way.

The round came together as follows:
par,par,par,par,par,par,double,birdie,bodgey (39)
bogey,double,par,bogey,bogey,bogey,triple,double,par (45)

I missed a few putts left coming back, I think I had the head up looking for them going in.
I plugged my tee shot in a greenside bunker on the 16th and took 2 to get out just! then took 3 from the edge of the green. I sliced my drive OB on the 17th.

It seems everyone is playing well and shooting low except me. Great scoring and a justified cut. Do you know if that will be a winning score (or in the prizes). Always helps to soften a big handicap cut if there is a reward at the end of it.

Even off your handicap the odd mistake will happen and the OB at 17 is just one of those things. I bet it was tension and worrying about your score and that you just made a really lousy swing. Try to listen for the putts (especially the short ones) going in as that will stop you looking up and bringing the right shoulde into the swing.

Anyway enough about should haves and could haves it was a cracking score. Well done.

Fantastic outward 9! Great scoring. As above, I reckon the back 9 was all to do with thinking about the score.

(I play my best when someone else is keeping the scorecard!)

You've obviously got the game in you, and just need to keep it together for the full 18 and the handicap will shoot down.

Long may the form continue!
