As you may or may not know, our very own Smiffy is going through a bad patch with his golf at the moment.
I think Homer has pinched his Mojo.
Anyway, I think I have convinced him to get down the range and work on a drill I've suggested.

Yeup, that's right
Smiffy....practicing.
Only time will tell mind you. He may decide to buy a new set of irons instead.
So, if you are on the look out for a second hand set of i15s, dont go to ebay just yet. :)

Bob doesnt he also need a V-Easy?

It's not my putting that's the problem.
It's oinking my way to the green that's causing me grief.
:( :( :( :(

Smiffy is quite capable of putting well (for him)
40ish putts for him is ok. It's his long game that doesn't get near the standard of his putting.

But, having said that, I do have a V-Easy with his name on it, just in case :)

Smiffy and I are like peas in a pod this year, whoopsie golf and awaiting the arrival of the I20's like a wean awaiting father Christmas!

Smiffy probably has more hair but my bladder control is much better.

In both cases -"Keep your head down" would seem to help. ;)

To get all technical, it's bloody swaying. I can't stop myself doing it.
Address and takeaway are fine, but I'm sliding soooo far forward on my downswing in my efforts to get the poxy thing off the tee my hands and arms are playing catch up, and 9 times out of 10 I'm slinging my right shoulder in to get back to the ball.
I have no idea where the bloody thing is going to go. Either a massive high duck hook, a big pull left, and if I try to hold off for a bit either a big push or slice. Occasionally I'll hit the odd good one, but they are few and far between.
Iron play is suffering too as I get ahead of the ball before impact and hit an almost "shank like" low scudding push.
Or fat it.
Or thin it.

Anybody what to buy a set of clubs????

"Bad patch?"
Understatement of the year....at the moment, I am to golf what Suzanne Boyle is to hang gliding

Smiffy's golf was so bad he decided to commit suicide by submerging his head in a bath of water. He only failed because he couldn't keep his head down long enough. :D

Smiffy we have all been there. Look on the bright side! Just think how good you will feel, when you come out the other end.

I find the best thing to do in this situation is take four weeks off.
So my clubs are away in the shed until the end of October

Bob, you may have performed 2 miracles. After your tips the other week Viscount was actually driving the ball straight today.

Straight? Are you sure?
Don't you mean less hooky?
Miracles are 10 a penny but getting Steve to hit the ball straight is beyond even my modest abilities   ;)

Having walked off the course the other week I really was frustrated. Played really well today. Smiffy is old and enough and ugly enough to know that these things come in cycles but the good ones don't usually hang around very long. I'm surprised to hear Smiffy and the P word mentioned in same sentence. You'll be telling me next he's gone for a lesson. I need to have a lie down.

I went down to Cooden GC this morning to show the pro my swing.
I hit a few balls, he had a good look and then I asked his advice.
"I'd take a couple of weeks off and then give up completely" he said
