So, it's been a record breaking year weather wise. Courses have barely shut and I for one have taken advantage of the sunshine and daylight hours and played way more golf than usual. However, I am looking forward to the winter season and the changes in conditions that it will bring. Greens will once again become receptive, driving distances will return to normal levels, "carry" and not "run" becomes important, club selection will become 2nd nature and not a guesstimate. Best of all the the fair weather golfers will put their clubs away until April so traffic on courses will diminish meaning a round can be done in less than4 hours. Can't wait.

I love winter golf but am not looking forward to it yet... A little more run and sun yet please!

Very strange post, Yes I love winter me, I love the fact you have to wear 5 layers of clothing meaning you cant swing properly, I love the fact after 12 holes you cant feel your fingers, I love the fact the course looks a right mess. No thanks lets drag the summer out for another few months please!!!

With you there ftr.
All the fair weather numpties who cause 5 hour rounds will fade away like snow of a dyke and leave the proper golfers to enjoy the sport as it should be played.

I love playing in the winter - bright sun on a crispy day etc, but for pure enjoyment its a relaxed evening round while its still warm and the fairways are clear.

Only a couple of months left of this so definitely not wishing it away early!!

Sounds like you need to embrace the cold and man up or invest in better winter clobber.
