After taking up golf properly in April I've learned loads from this place and had some very sound advice (and some free mags ), I reckon if it wasn't for here I would never have joined a golf club which I did just over a month ago.
I put in three cards on Friday evening after knocking a dozen shots from my previous best, got an email from the secretary earlier who says my first ever handicap is 20 :thup:
To say I'm chuffed is a huge understatement, only the other week I was expecting 28 but after a recent lesson I've been playing really well.

Better change my sig now

Congratulations. 20 is a respectable starting point. My advice for what its worth (not much probably) is to work hard on your game over the winter when the course is shut (it's inevitable!!) and maybe a few lessons. Short game work will help but whatever you decide, have fun getting your handicap down

Good stuff fella. Get amongst them. Keep it on the short stuff and make room on the trophy cabinet! Golf is good: I think! I hit the ball therefore I am Nichy I think!
