too bloody commercial for my liking. Just been shopping and it was rammed, xmas crap everywhere. The kids want a small fortune spending on them aswell on overpriced branded tat

Roll on January!!!!! :ears:

oh and lets not forget 41 days between paydays grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I love the day, hate the build up. The Baileys for breakfast, Chocolates, the odd whisky, then the dinner. Turkey and cranberry sandwiches, love it all.......glad it is only 1 day though.:)

I never used to like Christmas, but since our son turned up I'm warming to it.

My shopping is all done and wrapped and bagged up ready for taking to people, has been for about a week

I even treated myself to 2 dozen Pro V's of PokerJoke as a well done

...... And I'm still watching those MP33's :ears:

I love xmas. I've just cracked open a new bottle of whisky as its a tradition of mine to do it when there is only 1 working week left before the holiday. It's usually gone before Xmas day but I usually get a bottle on the day which gets demolished by the family

I love the build up for me to start about 2 weeks before and I'm pretty good at keeping out of the commercial flood until I'm ready to take part. My xmas shopping is done, the feast is ordered and the family visits are planned. This one is going to be a belter

I'd like this but it starts getting rammed down your throat from the end of September.
I've always said if you're thinking about Chstmas before December then you're taking it too seriously.
I hate crowds so will do most of my shopping online, only venturing into Town early this Monday morning to finish off....

Not a fan as we don't have children or grand kids. I've no family left and the outlaws are in the US every year. I enjoy the dinner HID does. I can't even drink as much as I use to so the day tends to drag a little with not much to distract

But that's just it, spending time with our nearest. For anyone who doesn't actively celebrate xmas then the national holiday is a perfect day to spend with our other halves and make a proper effort, not just a Sunday dinner (and our lass makes an awesome Sunday dinner). I even make time to take the dog on a longer walk than usual while the wife and daughter eventually get ready and its brilliant how much happier and sociable people are on xmas morning.

Here here!!!

I wouldn't bother with any of it by choice as well as the commercialism there's so much falseness to it IMO.

But with a 3 year old getting all excited I have to show a bit of Xmas spirit.

I really dislike the fact that retailers start Christmas displays in October, and have actually had words with stores that do this.
Four grandkids make Christmas a bit special [and expensive]

I popped into Sainsbury's yesterday and the Prestwick primary school were singing the most beautiful carols. I stopped, donated and listened for 10 minutes whilst nearly everyone else hurried past with thier heads down.

I'm not a fan. Too commercial, too false, too busy, too much forced jollity, too little charity, too much over priced tat, too much expectation, too much hijacking by people of other religions, too cold, too dark, too many relatives, too much food, not enough drink (I drink less at Xmas than normal as I'm always driving), too expensive, too many rubbish Christmas songs on the radio, not enough golf, too many restaurants serving over priced rubbish limited menus at silly money.

I hate Christmas.

So why did I put up 3 Christmas trees today, that need decorating tomorrow?
