I found a broken club, looked a bit like someone was having a bad day. Should I hand it in? Or is it ok to keep it seeing as the original owner was clearly done with it.

Whats the done thing?

Where did you find it, lying in the middle of the fairway (etc) or in a bin?

Just left beside the fairway. Under an large bush (where I spent most of my morning)

unless it was in a place where it looked like it could've been dropped without a player realising then I wouldn't see the issue.

Was it just snapped in 2 or something?

I played with a guy last night who had a snapped club in his bag. He tried to snap another on 8 but the club held up to his attempts... Pretty funny to watch.

Club easily re-shafted/re-gripped, one mans rubbish is another mans treasure! Only worth keeping/fixing if you either want to play it or can sell it, otherwise bin is best place. Player shouldn't have left it on the course tbh...litterbug!

I found my Ping G20 5w head (snapped shaft) in some trees a couple of year back, after a quick clean & new shaft it was as good as new 😬

Yeh snapped in two. Its a hybrid club. I'm very new to golf (about 4 days) and I don't have many clubs so I was going to keep it and get it repaired. Save a few quid like. I don't think someone could've dropped it without realising where I found it. More like someone throwing a wobbler.

I found a Callaway hybrid snapped and thrown in the trees (I was watering the ground at the time). Had it reshafted and gripped for £27 fitted.

Not worth wasting money on a new shaft just yet. If you can gaffer tape it back together youll get a good 7-10 days out of it. Then if you like it, by all means put a new shaft in...

Completely agree! Post of the day well done that man! Your old ping bag is still treating me well btw dave

Dont think you'd be criticised for taking reasonable steps to locate the owner ( asking in the clubhouse or pro shop if anyone has lost one) and if after a couple of weeks no one comes forward you could do with it as you please.

Once saw a snapped Graphite Design AD-DI in the bin at Traditions (fairly rubbish pay & play). Very expensive bit of anger and strange to see round there as its an upwards of 200 quid bit of kit (the orange & white stripey one thats popular on tour)
